Bank of Korea: Cut down 75 basis points Interest to prevent sharp economic decline
Bank of Korea on Oct.27 issued the placard that central bank reduced 75 basis points is to avoid the recent financial market turmoil in South Korea. The central bank also said that the bank will take all necessary actions to prevent serious slowdown economy; moreover, they would also guard the inflation risks. Central bank also pointed out that the interest rates reduction also could slow down the rising speed of market lending rate.

American Federal Reserve probably will cut interest rates this week in response to the growing financial crisis
According to the market predication on October 26, American Federal Reserve is likely to reduce the interest rates this week so as to cope with the growing financial crisis and recession risk.
Many economists and market participants expect the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates by 50 basis points, whereas other analysts also have predicted the Federal Reserve may cut interest rates by 25 basis points.

China Import (Refined Copper Import, Cotton Import, Iron Ore Import, Sugar Import)

Refined Copper Import in China in September
China General Administration of Customs issued the data that in September, 2008, China imported 112,187 tons of refined copper, which were 9.9% higher than the same period last year. From January to September, China totally imported 974,365 tons of refined copper, which reduced dropped by 17% compared with the same period last year.

[Chinese Cotton] China imported 129,001 tons of cotton in September, 2008
According to the data released by Chinese General Administration of Customs, China imported 129,001 tons of cotton, which was decreased by 45% compared with the same period last year.

Chinese Iron Ore Import increased 18% with 39.20 Million Tons
According to the data released by Chinese General Administration of Customs, iron ore import increased to 39.20 million tons, which up 18%. In the past nine months, Chinese iron ore imports are 346.11 million tons totally, which increased 22% compared with the same period last year.

China imported 44,276 tons of Sugar in September
According to the data released by Chinese General Administration of Customs, sugar import in China reached 44,276 tons, which reduced 70% compared with the same period last year. However, in the past nine months, Chinese sugar imports are 698,832 tons totally, which increased 28% compared with the same period last year.

Increase of Export Tax Rebate has a Limited Impact on Furniture Industry
Approved by the State Council, the Ministry of Finance, State Administration of Taxation recently announced that from November 1, 2008, the export tax rebate has been adjusted, while partial furniture export tax rebate increased to 11% and 13%. However, the industry personnel believes that this is good news to the furniture industry, but the positive impact on the furniture export is limited.

Home Appliances Export Deteriorates
The factors, RMB appreciates, money supply tightens, and raw materials and labor costs increase, make the comprehensive cost of home appliances export increase greatly. However, the performance falls more obvious, while the performance of the small and medium enterprises is worse than the large enterprises.
